PRIVATE TOUR

MIN 10 YEARS

Invisible in this case refers to the Perun mountain that is oftentimes too close to Split to even know it is there. Being in shade of its „big brother“ Mosor very few people are aware what a little jewel this is. Suitable for lighter and medium hikes it will nevertheless give you a lot of pleasure with its forgotten villages, forest trails on one and rocky paths on the more exposed other side. History of this micro region needs to be mentioned – inhabited ever since Illyrians and others who followed all the way to the unique Poljica republic that for centuries managed to stay independent in the turbulent times surrounded by Venetians and Turks.

Almost every stage of the path offers a certain point of interest, be it just a nice view or some historically significant place, a church there, a hermits dwelling in a walled-up cave here and so on…what you will see will also depend on the tour you take; the north side of Perun is better option for more leisure hikes because it is mostly flat with just a few, easy uphill sections and bit more of a downhill while the medium one winds on the both sides and has some ascents too.

In every case the trail brings you to a little village where lunch will be in a little tavern offering some great authentic local food and refreshments after which you choose whether you feel like getting a ride right away to explore the medieval town of Omis (it would be a waste not to since we are so close to it) or hiking downhill to it (decision to be made on the spot).

After relaxing (coffee) time in Omis your transfer will get you back to Split.

EASY: 4 – 5 hours covering central/east side of the mountain, trail is more flat and downhill with just few uphill sections

MEDIUM: 5 -8 hours covering central side of the mountain, trail has both uphill and downhill sections
