Unlike most hiking trips this one starts from a higher groundand ends at sea level. First step is to get transfer from Hvar town which will take us up the old, picturesque road winding through the countryside with great panoramic views to other islands, hilltops, lavender fields, olive groves and awhole lot of rocks; particularly dry-stone walls stretching endlessly in all directions formed when people worked really hard to remove the rocks from the soil in order to cultivate the land. Now they are a testimony and reminder of past centuries before tourism.

We start walking from the old road Hvar – Stari Grad to immerse ourselves into the nature with its scents and colors. As a gravel road gives way to a trail views change and regardless of whether we take easier or more demanding route the hike will get you into a gorge only to find a neglected gem of almost extinct Dalmatian architecture -little village known as Malo Grablje – completely and finally abandoned in the 50es of the last century. You’ll walk through little alleys to discover its most interesting corners, such as an old olive press. Optionally there will be a stop in a tavern run by a local family, and a great one too, where you’ll have a tasty meal in a truly authentic setting.

The hike continues down to the village of Milna on the water and there you either finish the tour and we call for transfer or go on following the coastal trail that will like few others reveal the true Mediterranean features and eventually take you back to Hvar town.
